2023 ABD eSports Cycling Winter Series - State Championship Time Trial and Criterium

Two Brothers Roundhouse - 205 N Broadway, Aurora, IL 60505 

 This is a series of eSports indoor cycling events throughout January and February 2023. The first three events will be contested virtually from participants’ own “pain caves”. The series will culminate in an in-person day of eSports bike racing, season ending party and awards ceremony at the Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora. Proceeds will benefit the Special Olympics Illinois. Note – the State Championship races on Feb. 25 will be broadcast live by Echelon Racing Promotions.

February 25, 2023, Start times TBA, ~10K TT and ~20K Men’s and Women’s Criteriums – These races will be in-person on trainers (and computers/tablets) provided by ABD in the very cool Tavern Room at the Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora. You will need to bring your own bike and will need to know your own RGT userid and password. You’ll need an ABR annual or one day license to compete in these races. The TT’s will be conducted similar to the way we used to do the indoor TTs in Winfield with racers assigned into into heats throughout the day. Finishing times will be published overall and by ABR categories and age groups. The top five finishers in each ABR category and age group will win medals and the winners of each category will be declared ABR Illinois State eSports Time Trial Champion and will be awarded ABR State Championship jerseys. The top 10 men and top 10 women who qualified based upon their finish in the February 11 race will contest the ABR Open eSports State Championship Criterium races. The winners will also be awarded Illinois State Championship jerseys. These will be the feature races at the end of the day and we hope everyone will stay around to cheer on the racers. Echelon Racing Promotions will broadcast these races live with an announcer and the races will be archived to be watched later as well.
