2023 Cougs Vs Cancer 5K Run ?

_ The 2023 Cougs Vs Cancer Run:  

Cougs vs Cancer Run!  *REGISTRATION OPENS DECEMBER 9th*  Sign up to join BYU's fight against cancer!  The Cougs vs Cancer Run is a proud annual tradition at BYU, now in its 28th year! The event is a virtual or in person 5k! Our virtual runners are invited to run whenever they can leading up to our in person event on March 12th, 2022. Upon registering you will be sent your  run t-shirt in the mail and entered to win numerous prizes! 100% of ALL PROCEEDS go to fund BYU student cancer research fellowships through the BYU Simmons Center for Cancer Research. The race honors Rex E. Lee, former President of BYU and founding Dean of the J. Reuben Clark Law School, who passed away from cancer.  Brigham Young University's Simmons Center for Cancer Research is committed to the health and safety of our students, staff, and every community member who attends our Cougs Vs Cancer Rex Lee Run. Concerns related to COVID-19 have affected every part of society. After careful consideration of the present circumstances, Church Educational System (CES) leadership has decided to temporarily restrict all large gatherings on campus. The race will again be a virtual experience, and we invite all to participate!  Here’s how: -   Register for the race -   Receive your t-shirt in the mail. -   Do a 5K anytime between before March 12th, or run with us in person at BYU on March 12th! -   Post a video or picture of your run on using #yirun and tag @rexleerun.   Throughout the many years of this race, our mission remains the same: to raise funds for full-time student cancer research fellowships, providing BYU undergraduate and graduate students the chance to begin their careers as the next generation of cancer clinicians and researchers.
