2022 First Day 5K Ranger Run ?

_The 2022 First Day 5K Ranger Run:

Come out and join the park rangers for the 2022 First Day 5K Ranger Run at Devils Fork State Park.  Start off the new year with this fun and exhilarating run through the park. The race is a road run on paved surfaces, and will start at the picnic area and proceed down the road to the remote boat ramps, then back to the picnic area.  This loop route does include some hills and will get your heart rate up to help you stay warm.  The Ranger Run is open to all participants, from first timers to dog walkers to seasoned runners.  Pets are allowed but must be controlled and on a leash at all times.  The 5K will start at 1 PM on Saturday January 1, 2022.  Door prizes and awards will be given for top place finishers.  Stick around and jump in Lake Jocassee as part of the traditional Loon Lunge after the race!  T-shirts will be provided while supplies/sizes last with your registration. 

This race is the first event of the Come Out & Play 5K series for the South Carolina State Parks.  All proceeds go to the park for trail maintenance and improvements.
