2022 STRC Mall Madness Scavenger Hunt

What:  A family fun way to explore the Arnot Mall while answering questions and completing tasks along the way.   Solo participants or teams will compete head-to-head for prizes.

When:  Sunday, March 6th from 8:00am-10:00am

Where:  Center Count at the Arnot Mall located 3300 Chambers Road South, Horseheads, NY 14845.

Swag: Your choice of a cozy beanie hat, stunning red ear warner headband, or a shirt from a previous Mall Madness event.

Event Schedule:
7:30-8:00am:  Check in and Registration
8:00-8:10am:  Team 10 minute Warm-Up
8:15-9:45am:  Active scavenging!
9:45-10:00am:  Results and Awards

Rules:
1)      Teams may consist of 1 to 4 persons.
2)      Teams are required to stay together during the entire competition unless a team member is injured or cannot physically continue.
3)      Teams can run, walk, skip, crawl, or jump their way throughout the mall.
4)      Teams will be given a ten (10) minute warm-up period and are encouraged to explore the mall before the start of the competition.
5)      Maps of the mall will be provided.
6)      Teams are given ninety (90) minutes to complete as many tasks and answer as many questions as possible.   
7)      Tasks and questions will be handed out one at time to each team.   Each team will have the same set of tasks/questions, but they will be handed out at random to ensure teams are working on different elements throughout the competition.   
8)      You can use your phone, but it won’t help you.    
9)      No sharing of answers among teams.   Cheaters will be disqualified and made to the clean the restrooms with their remaining time in the mall.
10)   Teams must start at Center Court, travel throughout the mall to answer the question or perform the task, then return to Center Court.   Teams will turn in their answer or completed task then be given another to complete.
11)   Each completed task or correct answer is worth one point.  Incorrect answers or uncompleted tasks are worth zero points.
12)   The team with the most points at the end of ninety (90) minutes will be declared the winner.
13)   Teams returning after ninety (90) minutes will not be allowed to submit an answer or task.
14)   One bonus point will be awarded to teams for the following:
a.       Exciting team uniforms
b.       Outstanding overall team sportsmanship
c.       The telling of a joke that makes the event staff say “Now, that was a good one!”
d.       Wearing different colored shoes throughout the event.
