We are looking forward to seeing you Saturday, February 26 at 10 a.m. for the Paczki Run in beautiful Hamtramck! We appreciate your support and patience as we navigate the many challenges of producing in-person events during COVID. Please read below, as there are some changes to the way we have done things in the past.   MASKS ARE REQUIRED on site.  This means you must be wearing a mask to pick up packets, get a beverage, dance in the polka tent- you get the drift.  It’s February in Michigan.  Your face will thank you!   GETTING TO THE RACE:
The Race Start is on Jos. Campau, just south of Holbrook at Hanley Street.  There will be some closures on I-75 starting on 2/26.  Please check for construction before heading out to the race to ensure you are not stuck in traffic. The race route will be closed at 8 AM. You will not be able to cross the barricades after this time until the entire race has ended.  We advise parking outside of the race barricades, and walk to the start if you need to leave before noon. Attached is the route map. Please plan accordingly.  The Paczki Run happens in 70-degree weather or 10 inches of snow.  Please dress appropriately and know that “the Run must go on.” PARKING:
Several municipal lots are available in the city.  Please note:  cars will not be able to pass through runners so if you are a fast runner, keep that in consideration when identifying places to park.  There is also street parking, but please do not block driveways, alleys, or park on the 5K route, as you will be towed.  ROUTE MAP, MUNICIPAL PARKING LOT LOCATIONS, BIB DISCOUNTS CAN BE FOUND HERE! We advise parking outside of the race barricades, and walking to the start if you need to leave before noon.  PACKET PICK-UP: 7 AM-9:30 AM, Saturday February 26.
PLEASE NOTE:  AT THIS TIME THERE WILL BE NO EARLY PACKET PICK-UP. Packet pick-up will be located in a tent near the start of the race, off Jos. Campau at Hanley.  Please understand that with the pandemic, and the recent surge in Michigan we have had to modify our process to limit the number of contacts with runners and volunteers in order to host an in-person event. It is extremely important that you come early for your packets.  Don’t wait until 9:30 to arrive.  To make the line move faster, you can find your BIB number in advance online. LOG INTO RUN SIGN UP AND FIND YOUR BIB NUMBER.  Bring it with you and go straight to one of our fabulous volunteers, AND SAVE TIME!. Picking up your friends' packets? Do the same. Water, BEER, Paczek and… Vodka?
Water will be available after you cross the finish line, where you will receive a can of still water, and a Paczek. This year in addition to a beer, we are providing a small shot of Detroit Distillery’s Paczki Vodka!  Beer and vodka will be distributed to those 21 and older near the polka tent after the run. FURRY FRIENDS?
We love dogs, but dogs are not allowed on the route.  This is a policy made to ensure the safety of the animals and other runners.  Depending on the weather the streets will be highly salted and therefore rough on the paws.  Leashes trip runners.  Please keep Fido at home.  Our dogs are home as well. POLKA TENT
An outdoor Polka tent is back, with the Misty Blues performing!  Masks required at all times. WHAT'S A 'BIB DISCOUNT?
The Tour de Troit, Inc. created the idea of BIB Discounts back in 2010.  Basically, it is our way of connecting runners to the local businesses and the sponsors that support our events.  We want you not just to run in the event, but participate in the community that hosts it!  To do that, several sponsors have provided discounts to people sporting their BIB in their establishments.  Follow Tour de Troit on social, and see our list of discounts here online. AM A VIRTUAL RUNNER! WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
Your race packets will be mailed to you starting February 20.  You will have 1 week to complete your run.  We encourage you to take pictures and to send them to [email protected],  Please upload your results on Run Sign Up. We thank you for your support and look forward to running with you in person soon. I HAVE A FRIEND THAT WANTS TO REGISTER!
